Longtime Patriot Fan and Hair Restoration Expert Goes on the Offensive for Brady
CRANSTON, R.I., Jan 25, 2008 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Dr. Robert Leonard, founder and chief surgeon of Leonard Hair Transplant Associates, announced today that all this talk of Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and hair restoration is not only distracting but inaccurate.

"Brady needs to be focusing on the Super Bowl!" states Dr. Leonard. "He has a good head of hair and does not need surgery. However, he very well may be noticing that his hair is thinning, which is the case for over 50% of the male population."

The New York Post's Page Six column reported Jan. 22 that the Patriots quarterback spent time in a Manhattan office building that includes a business that sells hair restoration formulas. Rumors quickly spread about whether Brady is losing his hair and whether he received "hair plugs."

Should Brady ever be contemplating some proactive treatment measures, Dr. Leonard would recommend a scientifically proven, multi-therapy approach of Propecia(R), Rogaine and/or low-level laser light therapy.

As for all the New England fans, Dr. Leonard recommends two things:

1. Cheer on the Patriots!
2. Get your facts straight about hair loss and hair restoration surgery

-- The days of the "plugs" are long gone. This outdated technique, in which each transplanted graft contained 25-30 hairs, hasn't been performed since 1991, the last time the Giants won the Super Bowl. Modern hair transplantation results are nearly undetectable--each graft now consists of only 1-3 follicles.
-- 50% of hair is already down the drain before one even realizes it is thinning
-- Hair loss is 98% genetics--it is not caused by wearing hats or HELMETS!
-- Hair loss affects 1 in 2 men; it is a progressive condition and devastating for many.
